[review] eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
jim carrey rocks
i love it when
an actor takes on different roles
and i believe they are
who they say they are
and forget who they were
in a movie past
i must say
that i prefer
seeing jim carrey in serious roles
he's just so believable
so ... real
(like you watch this guy
and you think
wow, what a timid lonely man
didn't once think "JIM CARREY"...)
in any case
i'd read a synopsis or two
and the theme intrigued me
the movie's start however
was a bit ... unexpected
something about the way it was shot
the camera work
and the lighting
it had an unsettling,
disjointed effect
and i guess in a big way
it set the mood for the film
i'd almost say
it was unnerving
kate winslet played a really neat role
i knew she was in it
but i always get
titanic girl
mixed up with elizabeth/lotr-elf girl
(cate blanchett)
it's the name sound thing
or something
the story was neat
but the realism of the acting
was what made it great
ok,
'nuff about the acting
so
lots of stuff in there
to get one thinking
about thoughts
about memories
actions and consequences
why we do things
maybe it's me
but i see some kinds of karmic cycle stuff in there
doing things over and over again
until you see through the illusion of the world
and move on
sometimes
or oft times
trapped in the world of illusion
thinking you are free
the confusion of "reality"
and how it can be distorted
by what's in one's mind
love and affection
affection and love
persisting
even when we try to deny it/them
in the end
i came out of this movie
...pensive
*ponder*
